We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lecturer in Aboriginal Health to join our team at the University of South Australia. As a key member of our academic unit, you will be responsible for contributing to the teaching, scholarship, research, and professional activities of our institution.
Your primary focus will be on Aboriginal Health curriculum development and pedagogies, as well as providing advice on these areas in relation to our undergraduate and/or postgraduate programs.
Key Responsibilities- Apply research and scholarship to the development of courses, including investigating and developing alternative teaching methods and the initiation and development of new material.
- Maintain and strive to improve the quality of courses as measured with a variety of evaluation instruments.
- Conduct research and scholarly activity (independently or as a member of a team) which will result in publications in refereed journals and in presenting conference papers at seminars.
- Create, foster, and enhance local, national, and international links with relevant professional, university, and community bodies that assist in the advancement of University and Academic Unit objectives.
- Demonstrated understanding of the issues impacting on the learning of Aboriginal tertiary students from diverse backgrounds and a detailed knowledge of and familiarity with Aboriginal communities.
- A bachelor degree in a Health-related field and relevant industry/discipline experience in Aboriginal culture/health/research.
- Ability to undertake a range of teaching duties including the preparation of appropriate teaching materials and resources.
- High-level written and oral communication skills and the capability to use the necessary digital techniques required for effective curriculum delivery.
- The ability to enhance the research profile of the Academic Unit through collaborative research.
