About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Community Engagement and Communications Manager to join our team at Transurban. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for providing strategic guidance on community and stakeholder engagement for the M7-M12 Integration Project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective community and stakeholder engagement strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Transport for NSW and the D&C contractor communication and engagement teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Monitor and mitigate potential community and stakeholder issues to maintain a positive project reputation.
  • Review and provide feedback on collateral produced by the D&C Contractor to ensure consistency with project messaging.
  • Organize and participate in Community Consultative Committees and other key stakeholder groups to foster open communication and collaboration.
  • Support the delivery of social value initiatives along the project corridor to benefit local communities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Provide high-quality written content for a range of audiences, including project stakeholders, community groups, and media outlets.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience working on major infrastructure projects, ideally in the community engagement space.
  • Strong understanding of how major construction projects work in terms of their role interfacing with local communities.
  • Ability to identify communications key risks and their impact on reputation and trust.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to produce high-quality written material for a range of audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong and effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • High-level strategic thinking, organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to work in an autonomous environment.
  • Tertiary qualifications with a focus on Communications or Public Relations.
