Job Description

We are seeking an experienced professional to provide effective leadership and coaching to a team of payroll specialists. This role requires delivering high-quality, efficient, and effective payroll processing and transactional services across the university.

About the Opportunity
  • Lead a team of senior and junior payroll officers to oversee fortnightly payroll efficiently and effectively.
  • Work as a senior in the payroll team providing advice, guidance, and mentoring to ensure deadlines are met and the payroll service is provided in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Participate in ongoing process improvement projects and committees to align with the university's strategic direction.
  • Evaluate appropriate sign-off for pay runs and work closely with the payroll team to ensure full and well-governed sign-off every pay run.
  • Develop metrics, benchmarks, and SLAs to measure team performance and be a strong advocate of ServiceNow and associated performance dashboards.
Requirements
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience in people management including managing staff performance and development.
  • Understanding of legislation, enterprise agreements, and policies related to payroll processing.
  • Experience in end-to-end payroll processing and administration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in a high-volume customer service environment.
