Maintenance Officer

Fronditha Care is a not-for-profit organisation providing unique, culturally and linguistically diverse services. The organisation offers residential and support services to elderly people of predominantly Greek speaking background in Victoria and multilingual background in New South Wales.

The organisation's facilities provide an opportunity for the elderly to live with like-minded individuals who share their language, history, religious values, attitudes, rituals, celebrations, music and food.

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Officer to join our team at Fronditha Care Newcastle Residential Facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control supplies and equipment.
  • Oversee and coordinate contractors working on site.
  • Purchase and maintain materials, stores and provisions as required.
  • Undertake repair and cleaning work of plant and equipment according to manufacturers' guidelines.
  • Ensure day-to-day running of all maintenance requirements at the facility.

Requirements

  • Motivated and proactive individual with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work with other team members and external contractors.
  • Trade qualification and Greek language skills desirable but not essential.
  • Good interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Current Driver's License and access to a fully insured vehicle.
  • Strong understanding and applied knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety requirements.
