About the Role

The Director of Editorial Content is a pivotal position within our organization, responsible for shaping the narrative and driving business growth through strategic content initiatives. This role requires a skilled people leader with proven experience in managing and developing a team, as well as a strong understanding of setting up an editorial content team for success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the editorial and video content strategy across all publishing channels, ensuring alignment with the business strategy, brand identity, and audience needs.
  • Manage the content team, including journalists and the Video & Production teams, to deliver high-quality content that meets business objectives.
  • Act as a senior leader in the Melbourne office, working closely with the Head of Operations and People on operational and people requirements.
  • Proactively approach new content syndication partners and work to extend our content reach.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive growth and revenue through content initiatives.
  • Manage the monthly budget for the Content team and report to the CFO.
  • Identify trends and insights across the industry to drive new content types and innovation.
  • Lead the Podcast team to grow the podcast in line with content strategy.
  • Work with media partners to promote content across all platforms.
  • Proactively work with internal teams to improve website experience and drive conversions.
  • Mentor team members, ensuring they have clear KPIs that align with organisational objectives and goals.
  • Nurture a positive working environment, keeping our values at the core of everything we do.
About You

You will be a natural collaborator with a growth mindset, able to adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple internal and external stakeholders. You will have extensive experience in editorial and content leadership within a media industry, as well as experience in managing journalists and creating an editorial and video content strategy.

You will be able to identify potential risks related to content production and implement mitigation strategies, and have a deep understanding of target audiences and the ability to tailor content accordingly.
