Chief Marine Operations Manager

About the role
The Leading Officer is accountable for managing daily tasks, overseeing a team, and ensuring the safe operation of vessels and equipment.
- Supports development of loading and discharge plans;
- Undertakes watchkeeping duties as required in port and at sea;
- Manages all matters pertaining to cargo, cargo spaces, cargo systems, and cargo handling;
- Supervises and trains crew engaged in cargo duties;
- Enforces all safety precautions and regulations;
- Ensures all policies and procedures are properly carried out;
- Has comprehensive knowledge of all maintenance and repair needs of the deck and accommodation;
- Provides guidance and support to Deck Officers, including Deck Cadets;
- Capable of ShipSure entry and management of Deck department requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Allocating resources efficiently;
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations;
- Developing and implementing effective operational strategies;
- Managing teams effectively;
- Coordinating logistics and operations;
- Maintaining accurate records and reports.
Educational requirement: As per relevant maritime regulations.
- Technical requirements: at least 12 months documented qualifying seagoing service in charge of navigation watch;
- MSIC Card (required or ability to obtain);
- Working Safely at Heights (required or ability to obtain);
- Enter and Work in a Confined Workspace certification (required or ability to obtain);
- Current medical certification (required or ability to obtain).
