Position Overview:

The role of a Geotechnical Professional is pivotal in our construction endeavors. As a key member, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and expertise to the Engineering Department in managing geotechnical activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Geotechnical Manager in overseeing the delivery of works related to geotechnical activities
  • Support and supervise the Construction Department and Subcontractors to ensure work compliance with regulatory requirements and Deed conditions
  • Assist in identifying potential design issues and provide possible contingency solutions
  • Review design modifications and offer technical advice
  • Contribute to internal and client reports by providing required data
  • Ensure project deliverables meet safety, quality, regulatory, legislative, environmental, safety, and cost requirements
  • Track and document approval processes for timely submissions and responses
  • Deliver foundations, retaining structures, and other geotechnical elements for transmission towers and related infrastructure
  • Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications
  • Work closely with civil, structural, and electrical engineers to integrate geotechnical solutions into overall construction delivery
  • Participate in project meetings and provide geotechnical insights and recommendations
  • Manage timelines, budgets, and resources related to geotechnical aspects of the project

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Geology or Engineering Geology
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Transmission Line infrastructure projects or similar large construction projects
  • Tier 1 contractor experience
  • Understanding of construction techniques and methodologies
  • Ability to manage effective relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders, ideally with experience working on design and construct projects
  • Well-developed time management, organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated experience collaborating across multiple stakeholder groups
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and multitask effectively to meet deadlines

Selection Criteria:

  • Applicants should possess relevant tertiary qualifications in Geology or Engineering Geology
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Transmission Line infrastructure projects or similar large construction projects
  • Previous experience working with tier 1 contractors
  • Understanding of construction techniques and methodologies
  • Ability to manage effective relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
  • Well-developed time management, organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
