Clinical Facilitator

The Clinical Facilitator plays a pivotal role in the development of nursing students, providing guidance and support to ensure they acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitudes for practice in a clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and facilitate student clinical practice, delivering education and assessment opportunities to meet clinical placement requirements.
- Clearly communicate expectations to students while on clinical placement, ensuring a smooth and effective learning experience.
- Maintain positive relationships with healthcare agencies, enhancing the learning experience for students.
- Orientate students to the clinical placement facility, resources, and workplace health and safety issues.
- Conduct student debriefs, gather feedback, and facilitate communication with healthcare facility staff.
- Liaise with the Clinical Placement Coordinator to ensure effective and appropriate experiences for students.
- Assist students in developing communication, problem-solving, clinical, and professional skills.
- Promote the safety of patients/clients and students, conducting pre-briefing and debriefing sessions as needed.
- Minimum of 3 years' broad clinical experience in nursing.
- Detailed understanding of relevant professional and accreditation requirements.
- Tertiary qualification in nursing or a related health discipline.
- Current Division 1 Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA, with no conditions or notations.
- Advanced clinical nursing knowledge and skills.
- Ability to effectively manage and apply key conflict resolution skills in the student environment.
- High-level interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
