Key Responsibilities:

The Laboratory Manager oversees the smooth operation of a laboratory, ensuring quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. They lead a team of scientists and engineers in conducting experiments, testing materials, and analyzing data.

  1. Team Leadership: Manage a team to achieve goals and objectives.
  2. Safety Management: Implement and maintain safety protocols to prevent potential hazards.
  3. Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and calibration of scientific equipment.
  4. Regulatory Compliance: Maintain records, conduct audits, and inspections to meet QinetiQ's and Defence standards.
  5. Procurement: Source laboratory items and consumables as required, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
  6. User Onboarding: Train laboratory users on necessary competencies for their work.

About the Role:

This role is responsible for leading a team, implementing safety measures, maintaining equipment, ensuring regulatory compliance, procuring supplies, and training users.

Requirements:

Experience in laboratory management or related field, leadership skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, knowledge of safety protocols and regulations, technical expertise in scientific equipment maintenance.
