Mental Health Support Specialist

The Mental Health Clinician works collaboratively with young people and their families to identify support needs, goals and develop care plans.
They provide high quality assessments and interventions that focus on psychosocial wellbeing.
This position requires working closely with other professionals to maximise care outcomes for young people referred to the service.
Essential Skills and Qualifications- Current registration as a Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Provisional Psychologist, or Occupational Therapist (accredited in mental health) or qualifications in social work and accreditation with the AASW as a Mental Health Social Worker
- Experience in assessment and diagnosis of mental health disorders, provision of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and focused psychological strategies
- Demonstrated understanding of key issues affecting the health and wellbeing of young people with mental health and substance use problems
- Ability to engage and communicate effectively with young people and their families
