The Role

This Field Service Maintenance Specialist position in our Mount Isa team requires driven and experienced individuals for maintenance of client fleets. The role involves performing inspection, preventative maintenance, and repairs of specialist mining equipment, including underground development and production drills.

The successful candidate will have a proactive approach to maintaining machine efficiency, enhancing operational productivity, and contributing to the expansion of our customer network.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out general mechanical duties, maintenance, repairs, and fault diagnosis work on all Sandvik Underground Mining equipment.
  • Performing mechanical maintenance duties as per maintenance plans while upholding the integrity of the equipment and ensuring safe operation.
  • Providing feedback for efficient maintenance planning improvements.
  • Record keeping of parts usage, equipment monitoring, time records.
  • Adhering to all policies & procedures, especially EHS policies
  • Support technicians from other regions and assist in training.
  • Work effectively either in a team environment or autonomously.
  • Assist with machine audits/inspections.

Requirements

  • Australian recognized Mechanical Trade Certification is required.
  • Demonstrated previous experience with Sandvik Underground mining equipment would be advantageous.
  • Strong and proven safety culture.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service focus and motivation to achieve targets and goals.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Class C Manual Driver's License is required.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, reference checks, police checks, and regular onsite drug & alcohol testing.
