Role Overview

We are seeking trade-qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanics to join our Field Service Department in Townsville. As a Field Service Technician, you will enjoy a 7/7 roster and travel to various construction and quarry sites across North Queensland, as well as mining fleets in the Bowen basin.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform services, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on Komatsu mobile equipment
  • Maintain high levels of safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Test and adjust machine operation and monitoring systems using relevant literature and testing equipment
  • Coordinate site-based equipment maintenance projects, including job packet requirements and critical path
  • Generate technical/service reports, such as service reports and TSI & warranty claim processes
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $110,000 to $140,000 per annum, plus allowances for a 7/7 field service. Our benefits package includes:

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A trade qualification in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or similar
  • A level of technical understanding and function of Komatsu equipment is an advantage
  • Knowledge and previous experience repairing and maintaining earthmoving equipment or components
  • Post-trade field service experience is desirable
  • A current C category car licence with the ability to upgrade to MR licence as required
  • The ability to obtain all current tickets, including first aid, forklift, work at heights, etc.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety with the ability to work in remote areas and unsupervised
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and basic computer knowledge
