About the Role
We are seeking skilled Underground Blasting Engineers, Technical Services Engineers, Blasting Technicians, and Senior Blasting Technicians to join our Technical Services team, primarily serving underground mining clients. These positions may involve occasional site visits to support technical initiatives at various mining locations.
The primary responsibilities include providing design support for drilling and blasting, conducting on-site training for Orica products, executing advanced technical projects, and ensuring effective product stewardship for our clients in the mining and quarry sectors.

Key Responsibilities
- Project Management: Collaborate with the team to implement blasting-related projects at client sites utilizing Orica's innovative blasting systems and technologies.
- Product Expertise: Deliver advanced training and expertise on Orica's products to customer teams.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong partnerships with technical and operational teams of our clients.
- Problem Solving: Work alongside customer blasting teams to identify challenges and provide effective blasting solutions.
- Continuous Learning: Participate in training sessions, seminars, and masterclasses to enhance your skills and knowledge within Orica's global Technical Services community.
Qualifications
For Blasting Engineer or Technical Services Engineer
- A degree in Mining Engineering or a related field such as geology or civil engineering.
- Technical experience in drill and blast operations, preferably in diverse underground mining environments. Open cut drill and blast engineers interested in underground operations are encouraged to apply.
- Familiarity with Electronic Blasting systems.
For Blasting Technician or Senior Blasting Technician
- Experience as an underground operator, shotfirer, or in charge-up operations.
- TAE Cert IV is highly regarded but not mandatory.
- Experience with Electronic Blasting systems.
