Cyber Security Operations Senior Analyst

The Cyber Security Operations Senior Analyst is a key position within the Cyber Security team, reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). As a member of this team, you will play a critical role in delivering pragmatic, business-focused security services and providing expert guidance on a range of security matters.
Key responsibilities include working in partnership with the Security Operations Centre (SOC) provider to enhance operational efficiencies, configure and optimize the Security Information Event Management (SIEM) system, respond to incidents, and handle requests as required. You will also contribute to the development and refinement of cyber incident response strategies, playbooks, and threat-hunting activities.
As a key contributor to incident response efforts, you will engage effectively with the SOC, IT colleagues, and other stakeholders to strengthen the organization's overall security posture.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience in the following key areas:
- Experience working in Cyber Operations teams or a strong desire to quickly learn and adopt cybersecurity operations processes.
- Experience with security tools such as enterprise vulnerability detection, email security, or endpoint security.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and curiosity in problem-solving while using a methodological approach to understanding root cause.
- Well-developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, together with proven negotiation skills.
- Proven experience across relevant technologies such as:
- Endpoint security (AV, EDR, etc.)
- Email Security
- Firewall/Web Application Firewall
- Microsoft Azure
- SIEM tools
- Experience with Linux
- Windows servers, Active Directory
- Networking (routing, DNS, DHCP)
- Scripting (PowerShell)
Relevant cyber security certifications and/or qualifications (or demonstration of progression towards) are highly desirable, such as CISSP, OSCP, GCIH, GIAC. Alternatively, participation in cyber security challenges to improve skills and knowledge is also valued.
