Digital Matte Painter

At our studio, we are seeking a skilled Mid Level Digital Matte Painter to collaborate with our talented team members in the creation of visually stunning film and television content. As a key member of our VFX department, you will work closely with other artists to bring our clients' visions to life through exceptional digital matte painting.

As a mid-level digital matte painter, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Creating high-resolution digital matte paintings, sky replacements, and environment extensions based on concepts and plates.
  • Collaborating with the VFX team to ensure a cohesive and final look for all shots.
  • Working within a production pipeline, managing your time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Incorporating feedback from supervisors and senior artists to refine and improve your work.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 2-4 years of experience as a digital matte painter or a similar role in a professional VFX environment.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop and a good working knowledge of 3D software.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing a range of photo-realistic matte paintings and environments.
  • Solid understanding of the VFX pipeline and how matte painting integrates with other departments like compositing and lighting.
