We're seeking a highly skilled Data Governance & Privacy Manager to drive the responsible use of data and AI across our organisation.

Job Description

In this key role, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our AI and data governance frameworks. This includes championing data integrity, conducting privacy impact assessments, managing risk and collaborating with teams to embed a 'privacy-by-design' culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement Governance: Develop and maintain AI and data governance frameworks that support business growth and innovation while upholding the highest ethical standards and robust privacy protections.
  • Champion Data Integrity: Support the management of key data assets, ensuring their quality and integrity are fit for purpose.
  • Drive Privacy Compliance: Conduct privacy impact assessments (PIAs) for new projects, ensuring we meet our obligations under the Australian Privacy Act and the APPs.
  • Manage Risk: Identify and mitigate risks associated with data privacy and the responsible use of AI.
  • Collaborate and Educate: Partner with teams across the business to embed a 'privacy-by-design' culture and contribute to training programs.
What You'll Bring:
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in data privacy, data governance or technology risk.
  • A strong understanding of the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
  • Hands-on experience conducting PIAs and managing data assets.
  • An understanding of data management principles, including data quality and lifecycle management.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
