Financial Specialist Opportunity

About the Role:
  • This full-time position involves preparing financial statements, managing reconciliations and journal entries, and supporting budget development and monitoring.
  • The ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or a related field, and significant experience in financial reporting and general ledger management.
  • We're looking for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare financial statements in accordance with Australian accounting standards.
  2. Manage reconciliations and journal entries to ensure accurate financial records.
  3. Support the development and monitoring of operational and capital budgets.
  4. Play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of our general ledger and subsidiary systems.
Selection Criteria:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Sound knowledge of Australian accounting standards and public sector financial requirements.
