Job Overview:

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a challenging role as a Financial Management Specialist.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and controlling our financial reporting systems.

You will oversee the stores/depot function, ensuring all financial transactions are accurate and up-to-date.

In addition, you will prepare and complete annual financial statements and participate in the budgetary process.

Sound understanding of accounting standards and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues are essential requirements for this position.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage and control of financial reporting systems;
  • Oversight of stores/depot functions;
  • Preparation and completion of annual financial statements;
  • Liaise effectively with staff in other departments;
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting (or equivalent relevant qualification) with at least two years' experience in a similar position;
  • Class C Drivers Licence;
  • Demonstrated ability to show initiative and innovation, solve problems by examination and analysis of available options within timeframes and with available resources;
  • Experience in local government, NSW local government accounting principles and Technology One Software Systems (desirable);
