Job Description

The Supply Chain Optimization Manager is responsible for preparing and processing purchase orders and documents in accordance with established policies and procedures.

This role oversees all activities related to ordering, receiving, storing, and distributing materials.

A key focus of this position is to optimize stock holdings for current operational activities and in the run down to mine closure, coordinating with other sites to achieve reductions with the best value for the organization as a whole.

They supervise, manage, and mentor the Supply Chain team to ensure the needs of all customers are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and improve tools to determine optimum stock holding quantity and location.
  • Develop and improve stock holding policy and procedures to enable sound inventory level decisions to be made through following correct procedures and processes.
  • Develop measurement tools to determine the cost-effective inventory holding of the company.
  • Work with internal stakeholders on developing and maintaining material forecasts.
  • Monitor and evaluate consumables usage & costs, material utilization, and waste.
  • Maintain min/max points and MOQ's.
  • In charge of cyclic stocktake process – ensure accurate reporting of variance, investigation, and analysis in a timely manner.
  • Ensure integrity and accuracy of the material management system.
  • Identify opportunities within the location for improving the efficiency and/or effectiveness of the operation.
Requirements

We are looking for someone with at least 10 years relevant Supply/Warehouse/Logistics experience.

They must be able to produce a National Police Clearance and hold a valid 'C' Class Driver's Licence.

Forklift Licence and proficiency in PRONTO/SAP, Word, and Excel are also essential.

Strong report writing and communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills, are required.

Desirable Qualifications

Tertiary qualification in Supply and previous experience in the Mining Industry would be highly regarded.
