Risk Management Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Specialist to join our Quality & Governance team at Southern Cross Care Queensland.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery and maintenance of our risk management framework, identifying and preparing the organisation for uncertainties, minimising threats to organisational interests, and monitoring risk mitigation activities.
Key Responsibilities- Accountable for the ongoing implementation and maintenance of our Risk Management Framework, including maintaining the Macro Risk Register.
- Audit processes and procedures with a specific focus on risk management, leading and delivering improvement activities within the Risk Management Framework.
- In collaboration with risk owners, develop strategies to manage and mitigate risks.
- Provide risk advice and support to the business, including on significant projects and initiatives.
- Oversee risk registers, monitor tolerance levels, and coordinate corrective actions.
- Provide accurate, reliable, and current risk management advice, guidance, support, and education to ensure all staff understand, competently use, apply, and comply with approved policies and guidelines.
- Experience in risk management.
- Legal and/or regulatory experience – desirable.
- Knowledge of risk assessment and control.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to prepare accurate and timely documentation, including reports.
- Demonstrated experience in the business continuity process.
- Experience with auditing and reporting procedures.
- Familiarity with industry compliance standards and regulations.
- Strong computer and research skills; knowledge of analysis software is preferred.
- Ability to travel between SCC sites as required.
