Key Role Overview:

This position plays a crucial part in the Department for Education's Child Wellbeing Program, aimed at supporting vulnerable children and their families.

As an Aboriginal Child Wellbeing Practitioner, you will collaborate closely with schools and other government agencies to provide early intervention and support services.

  • Foster strong partnerships with local, regional, and state-wide government and non-government agencies to promote positive outcomes for vulnerable children, young people, and families.
  • Maintain a high level of professional knowledge by integrating contemporary information and research evidence with practice experience.
  • Cultivate relationships with cultural Elders and community members to enhance culturally sensitive and accessible services.
  • Lead or co-lead initiatives delivering supportive diversionary responses to children and their families, including home visits and case management services.
  • Manage complex cases, implementing case conferences and providing support services for children at risk and their families.

Notable Requirements:

  • National Police Check required.
  • Employment-related Screening Check required.
  • Suitable candidates should be prepared for occasional out-of-hours work and regular travel within Australia.
  • A current Australian issued driver's license (minimum class C) is essential.
