Job Description:

As a Senior Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in delivering projects to propose strategic, creative solutions to improve the resource allocation and efficiency for various government agencies. You will analyze and evaluate government expenditure, organizational structures, and service delivery to identify fiscal sustainability and strategic reform opportunities that inform evidence-based recommendations and advice to senior executives and Government.

You will be joining our Policy and Budget Group and will be working within the Review and Reform Division. In this integral role, you will have an invaluable opportunity to create a positive impact for the people of New South Wales.

As you contribute your expertise, you'll engage in continuous Professional Development, acquiring essential skills such as conducting thorough qualitative and quantitative analysis, supporting project management, providing specialist advice, working collaboratively, and building strong relationships across Treasury by participating in team events, training sessions, and other agency activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance resource allocation and efficiency
  • Conduct analysis of government expenditure and organizational structures
  • Provide evidence-based recommendations and advice to senior executives
  • Work collaboratively with teams across Treasury
Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

  • Ability to apply critical-thinking and problem-solving experience within a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Experience in project management and building robust stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience in consulting, strategy development, financial due diligence and analysis, or program and policy evaluation.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex information, including to senior stakeholders.
  • Tertiary qualifications in economics, accounting, finance, law, business, public policy or a related discipline.
