Senior Financial Analyst Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our organization. This role offers the opportunity to utilize technical skills as a base to grow commercial skill-set in industry.

The Senior Financial Analyst will work in a high-innovation commercial environment within the highly competitive freight services industry. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing month-end accounting activities, including the upload of journals, preparation of the fixed asset roll-forward, and preparation of aspects of board reporting
  • Providing detailed technical financial accounting advice to business and finance stakeholders, particularly around revenue recognition, capitalization, leasing, accruals, and provisions
  • Developing and maintaining accounting policies in accordance with the requirements of Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASBs) and best practice corporate governance principles
  • Preparation of quarterly Ministerial reporting and reporting to the Australian Bureau of Statistics
  • Preparation of aspects of the consolidated group result, including reporting to internal and external stakeholders
  • Providing assistance to subsidiaries in regards to financial accounting requirements, month-end procedures, and governance issues
  • Drafting high-quality communication to Boards, Risk, and other Committees on financial results
  • Identification and management of process improvements in respect of the organization's financial reporting framework
  • Monitoring and managing the internal control framework in relation to financial reporting
