Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead our quarry operations team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for driving sustainable business performance, safety leadership, and long-term growth across our quarry operations.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership skills, commercial acumen, and the ability to influence and coach others. You will have a proven track record in quarry management and operations, with a strong understanding of business development strategies and operational improvements.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the General Manager – Quarries with regional operational, financial, and performance outcomes.
  • Develop and deliver quarry development plans to ensure long-term sustainability.
  • Lead and manage key improvement projects to drive consistency and operational excellence.
  • Oversee quarrying assets and capital investment planning in collaboration with the Asset Manager.
  • Provide support and expertise to Quarry Managers and Supervisors to optimise performance.
  • Built lasting relationships with customers, suppliers, community groups, government, and industry associations.
  • Promote a culture of Zero Harm, continuous improvement, OEE, and Operational Excellence practices.
  • Drive business development strategies to improve product quality, reduce costs, and exceed customer service expectations.

You will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, management, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in Quarry Management and/or Operations.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and influence.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build lasting relationships.
  • Demonstrates commercial and business acumen to support market growth
  • Demonstrated success in driving operational improvements and achieving results.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
