About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Director to lead the growth and strategic expansion of our national Pet Cremation business. As a key member of the InvoCare team, you will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing business development team, identifying new business opportunities, and developing initiatives that align with the company's long-term goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and implement business development strategies, identify new market opportunities, and establish long-term partnerships with key industry and vet clinic stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Establish, lead, and develop a national high-performing business development team, establish business development processes and frameworks, and develop objectives, KPIs, metrics, and remuneration structures.
  • Revenue Growth and Profitability: Drive revenue growth through the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities.
  • Market Analysis and Competitive Intelligence: Conduct thorough market analysis to stay ahead of industry trends, competitors, and emerging opportunities, and develop a deep understanding of customer needs and behaviors to identify new opportunities for growth.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with key clients, partners, internal, and external stakeholders, and represent and network at key industry and community events, conferences.
What We're Looking For
  • Formal qualifications in a technical discipline coupled with extensive experience leading business development in a service industry.
  • An exceptional communicator with proven ability to influence others and strongly developed negotiation skills.
  • A high-level understanding of strategic business development strategies.
  • Proven customer orientation and ability to implement and manage client-focused service delivery.
  • Experience in consumer behavior/research and consumer marketing.
  • High-order organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills allied to practical judgment.
  • Demonstrated creativity in the development of innovative solutions required within a complex environment.
  • Significant leadership experience and ability to manage through influence with a broad and diverse stakeholder group.
  • Proven ability to analyze data, create sales plans, provide guidance, training, and mentorship.
