Systra, a leading engineering consultancy, has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Telecommunications Expert to lead complex railway projects.

Job Description

This role involves overseeing the planning, execution, and technical review of railway telecommunications projects. You will ensure alignment with client requirements and industry standards.

You will deliver high-quality telecommunications solutions that support railway mission-critical applications, tailored to specific client needs. This may involve collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery.

The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on innovation, client satisfaction, and project efficiency. They will contribute to the development of long-term client relationships and support project profitability.

You will oversee and review technical documentation, designs, and reports to ensure compliance with industry best practices and project specifications.

A key aspect of this role is providing technical leadership and mentorship to team members. You will share knowledge on telecommunications technologies relevant to the rail sector, including IP/MPLS and 3GPP networks.

You will engage with clients, stakeholders, and equipment suppliers to ensure project requirements are clearly understood and addressed.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Plan, execute, and review complex railway telecommunications projects.
  2. Deliver high-quality telecommunications solutions for railway mission-critical applications.
  3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for successful project delivery.
  4. Ensure compliance with industry best practices and project specifications.
  5. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members.
  6. Engage with clients, stakeholders, and equipment suppliers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience in consulting, with a strong background in railway telecommunications.
  • Direct experience with IP/MPLS and 5G equipment from major suppliers is highly valued.
  • Proven expertise in the deployment of 3GPP networks (4G, 5G) and IP/MPLS solutions within a railway environment is highly advantageous.
  • Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, client-focused solutions within project timeframes and budgets.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations, statutory requirements, and safety standards within the rail sector.
