Senior Mechanical Systems Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced mechanical engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and managing HVAC systems, preparing technical documentation, and ensuring that all mechanical installations comply with industry standards and client requirements.

About the Role:
  • Design complex HVAC systems for commercial and residential projects.
  • Perform heat load calculations, duct and pipe sizing, and equipment selection using relevant software tools.
  • Prepare detailed mechanical design drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Oversee installation and commissioning of mechanical services, providing technical support to site teams.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and suppliers throughout project life cycles.
  • Conduct inspections and troubleshooting of systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge of HVAC systems and related technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian standards and regulations.
  • Provide expert advice on mechanical system design and operation.
  • Assist in preparing tenders, cost estimates, and project documentation.
  • Participate in quality assurance and control processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with new technologies, industry developments, and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering (ANZSCO Skill Level 1).
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and relevant HVAC design software.
  • Excellent knowledge of Australian standards and Building Codes.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Eligibility for or membership with Engineers Australia is desirable.
