About the Role

PASDS Practitioner- Parenting Assessment is an intense short-term service that works with families across the Loddon catchment. As a key member of our team, you will provide independent, specialised assessments and reports in relation to vulnerable infants and young children\'s health, development, safety, and wellbeing.

The successful candidate will undertake comprehensive in-home or day-stay assessments to observe the strengths, skills, and abilities of the parents and/or caregivers. You will also provide an intensive skill development service component to assist parents in developing their skills, knowledge, and capacity to safely care for and nurture their children in the family home.

Your Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments of infants and their parents/caregivers, including information gathering, observation, analysis, and planning to increase safety.
  • Apply relevant theoretical approaches that underpin practice with vulnerable, high-risk infants, including theories of child attachment, development, and abuse.
  • Develop and implement individualised plans to support the parents and caregivers in promoting the health, wellbeing, and safety of the infant.
  • Collaborate with other service providers and stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting the family.

About You

  • You will have a strong understanding of the child protection, placement, and support service systems, including the legislative and policy framework.
  • You will have experience in working with families who have been exposed to trauma and a high level of resilience to support these families.
  • You will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with key stakeholders, including the infant\'s family, Child Protection, Children\'s Court, and the identified key case manager.

What We Offer

  • A salary at SCHCADS level 6.
  • Full-time, permanent position located at our Bendigo office.
  • A salary package of around $102,000, depending on your level of experience.
