Senior Laboratory Technician Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Laboratory Technician to support our field and laboratory testing operations.

This role will deliver high-quality construction materials testing, maintain NATA accreditation, and mentor junior staff.

  • Deliver and perform geotechnical and construction materials tests.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 quality systems.
  • Lead and train junior technicians.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
  • Liaise with field teams.
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Ensuring timely completion of testing tasks.
  2. Maintaining accurate records and reports.
  3. Participating in the development and implementation of quality control procedures.
  4. Collaborating with project teams to ensure effective communication.
Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

  • A minimum of 5-7 years' experience as a NATA-authorised signatory.
  • Diploma of Laboratory Technology or equivalent qualification.
  • Solid knowledge of Australian standards and Queensland TMR test methods.
  • Experience supervising teams or mentoring junior staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
