
Highly Skilled Laboratory Specialist Wanted

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our Quality Assurance Department. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and quality-controlling media for microbiological sample analysis.
You will also be involved in sampling preparation and monitoring test results within the export beef industry. This includes adhering to government and organisational standards, ensuring that current policy and procedure updates are implemented.
In addition, you will be responsible for completing daily routine procedures following laboratory schedules and manuals. You will calibrate and ensure the traceability of laboratory testing equipment and products.
Furthermore, you will participate in proficiency testing programs and culture control. Your tasks will also include record and report writing, data entry, calculations, and trending/moving average spreadsheets.
You will work closely with our team to participate in internal and external audits and corrective action processes. Finally, you will verify and/or validate test methods/processes.
Requirements:- A minimum of 3 years' experience operating in a NATA/DRAW approved Microbiology laboratory and/or Tertiary qualifications (including TAFE certificates/diplomas).
- A willingness to obtain NATA signatory status.
- An extremely high level of attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
- A willingness to work a roster, which may include weekends.
- Previous experience with PCR methods (e.g. GDS/BAX) and confirmation of pathogens along with reading of microbial results.
- Previous experience in a similar environment, such as meat processing/food manufacturing.
