Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Assistant to join our team.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care and support, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide direct patient care under the supervision of Registered Nurses/Midwives/Enrolled Nurses.
  2. Assist patients with transfers using various modes of transportation within the hospital.
  3. Support nursing caregivers in providing comprehensive patient care.
  4. Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
  5. Participate in emergency situations, following the guidance of the Coordinator.
  6. Foster a safe environment for patients, promoting their comfort needs.
  7. Collaborate with the nursing team to facilitate efficient patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
  8. Support registered nurses/midwives/enrolled nurses in caring for deceased patients.
  9. Provide focused supervision to patients as directed by registered/enrolled nurses to minimize risks.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Certificate III in Health Service Assistant (Client/Patient Services) or equivalent qualification;
  • 12 months of experience in a healthcare setting; or currently studying in a health-related field at a tertiary level;
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively;
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Benefits
  • $33.10 - $36.20 per hour dependent on qualifications/certificate
  • 11.5% superannuation
  • Casual role available
  • Salary packaging up to $18,550 on benefits such as mortgage, rent, meal entertainment, holiday accommodation or everyday living expenses
