Psychological Services Provider

Division: Northern CPPYJ, Kariong Location:

Youth Justice Centre

  • Temporary Full-time (up to 12 months)
  • Temporary Part-time (2 days/week, up to 12 months)

Role Overview

We are seeking experienced psychologists to work with the Youth Justice team at Frank Baxter Youth Justice Centre in Kariong.

  • Operate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team delivering psychological assessment, intervention and therapeutic services.
  • Provide consultancy service to staff on the psychological needs of clients within custodial and community locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake psychological assessment, intervention and deliver therapeutic services or programs to young people who offend.
  • Assist in formulating and reviewing individual Risk-Needs-Responsivity based case plans for the management and supervision of young people.
  • Deliver training to staff on the screening, identification and support of young people with mental health problems or intellectual disability.
  • Maintain confidential documentation and prepare reports, advice and consultation to statutory authorities.

Requirements

  • Minimum four-year accredited qualification in psychology.
  • Current provisional or full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
  • A current driver's licence and ability/willingness to travel throughout NSW.
