Our client, a well-respected government entity, is currently seeking a dedicated Policy and Safety Specialist to join their business unit on an initial 6-month contract in Stirling. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing safety and wellbeing policy or programs in the government context.

About the Role

In this exciting contract opportunity, you will collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop safety and wellbeing frameworks, policies, and procedures aligned with legislation. You will review existing policies with SMEs to ensure consistency across safety and wellbeing standards. Additionally, you will prepare briefs and reports as needed, build cooperative relationships with staff at all levels, and work independently within a small team to support the Project Management Office.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have experience with WHS and Wellbeing policy/program development in government. You should be skilled in drafting policies, interpreting, and applying legislation. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will liaise with stakeholders and produce high-quality briefs and reports. Project management skills are also required to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. Good judgment in policy review is essential, as you will work independently under pressure. Experience in key government services such as Health and/or Education is desirable.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is around $80,000 - $110,000 depending on your level of experience and qualifications. Please note that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for further discussion.
