Job Summary

We are seeking experienced Radiation Therapists to join our team at the Department of Health Tasmania. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in the planning and treatment of patients with X-rays, electrons, or radiation from sealed sources as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver radiation therapy treatments to patients with cancer or other conditions.
  • Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans.
  • Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
Requirements
  • Satisfactory completion of a relevant and approved allied health course of study at a recognized tertiary institution.
  • Registration with the relevant National Board for professions regulated under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law or eligibility for membership with the relevant professional association.
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of continuous quality improvement.
  • Ability to undertake client education.
  • Pre-employment checks including conviction checks in specified areas and disciplinary action in previous employment.
