Senior Control Specialist

About the Role
This position involves independently evaluating key controls owned by the 1st Line, identifying areas for improvement, and serving as a center of expertise for control testing and advisory services.
- Implementing the Operational Risk Management Framework and developing the Control Assurance capability
- Developing and implementing the Annual Control Assurance Plan with senior stakeholders
- Liaising with stakeholders to assess the effectiveness of key controls
- Educating and coaching 1st Line Control Owners on effective control design
- Identifying opportunities for improvement in 1st Line owned controls
- Supporting the completion of reports to boards and management as required
Requirements
To succeed, you will have:
- Relevant work experience in control testing, process/risk management from within a financial services environment
- Experience in audit and/or testing for regulatory frameworks
- An understanding of banking and finance operations, operational risk management, and related regulatory standards
- Strong knowledge of causes, influences, and drivers of operational risk
- Excellent knowledge of control testing and control frameworks
