Job Description- The Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for undertaking all servicing, repair, and upkeep of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
- Monitor and coordinate the processing preventative maintenance program.
- Troubleshoot and repair various types of machinery.
- Conduct tests and inspections to ensure machinery meets standards.
- Record stock of materials and supplies, labor costs, and equipment maintenance performance history.
- Monitor equipment and processing efficiency and act to improve where necessary.
- Maintain spare parts stock levels to support the processing department.
- Ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedure and legislation.
- Participate in regular communication to ensure effective contractor resource planning.
- Collaborate with other departments related to service, cost, and productivity.
- Responsible for maintaining documentation of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Support continuous improvement efforts to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Specialist or Electrician in a manufacturing environment.
- Relevant trade qualification (Mechanical Trade or equivalent).
- Experience in the Food industry and understanding of food safety, HACCP, cold chain, and product handling will be an added advantage.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with the ability to work independently.
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety and safe work practices.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Flexibility to work shifts, overtime, or be on-call as required.
