The National Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability Health plays a pivotal role in advancing healthcare by bringing together leading experts, resources, and research to inform best practice, drive innovation, and support equitable access to quality health services.
This role is part of a multidisciplinary team focused on empowering healthcare and disability professionals to address the healthcare needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide education and support to employees with lived experience of intellectual disability in a workplace environment.
- Mentor and guide employees with emotional and support needs.
- Maintain clear professional boundaries while building respectful and supportive relationships.
- Build inclusive teamwork and build respectful, trusting relationships with all members of the research team.
- Develop skills in inclusive research support and learn about inclusive research practices.
Requirements:
- Relevant qualification with subsequent relevant experience in educating or supporting people with lived experience of intellectual disability.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, including experience in providing mentoring to people with emotional and support needs.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain clear professional boundaries while building respectful and supportive relationships.
- Commitment to inclusive teamwork and ability to build respectful, trusting relationships with all members of the research team.
