Role Overview

This position plays a pivotal role in fostering relationships with local communities, promoting positive working dynamics with internal and external stakeholders to increase employment opportunities for First Nations individuals.

The Position's Key Responsibilities
  • Cultivate cultural awareness among staff, providing support on matters affecting First Nations peoples.
  • Demonstrate initiative by offering targeted on-site assistance for various programs.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to enhance industry and employer understanding of relevant employment and skills initiatives.
  • Participate in the Closing the Gap Community of Practice, representing Queensland State Office and sharing information on work being done to support First Nations people's integration into employment, education, and training.
  • Lead and contribute to Queensland State Office's Closing the Gap initiatives, bringing together staff, providers, and stakeholders to achieve shared outcomes for First Nations peoples.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Year 12 or equivalent certification is desired but not essential; a willingness to build knowledge of Queensland regions and related employment and skills programs is expected.
  • Demonstrated experience working with First Nations communities and organizations is crucial.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications is necessary.
