Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to fill the position of First Nations Engagement Manager. This role is crucial in building and maintaining positive relationships with Indigenous communities, stakeholders, and organizations.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively to ensure that Indigenous perspectives are integrated into all aspects of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies for engaging with First Nations communities in a respectful manner.
  • Establish partnerships between our organization and Indigenous groups to promote mutual understanding and collaboration.
  • Coordinate events, workshops, and initiatives that support reconciliation efforts.
  • Advocate for Indigenous rights within the organization and externally.
  • Provide cultural competency training for staff members.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Indigenous studies, social work, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated commitment to advancing reconciliation efforts.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation pertaining to Indigenous rights.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for meetings or events.

This is a full-time position based in Australia. We welcome applications from individuals who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
