Electrical Controls Systems Expert

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Controls Engineer to join our team on an initial 12-month contract, with potential to transition to permanent thereafter. This role will see you designing, developing, and commissioning electrical and control systems for major mining and resources projects. The position is predominantly controls-focused, with a strong hands-on element and scope to lead and mentor others.

This project offers the opportunity to work on high-value industrial plant expansions and installations, contributing to the engineering and control systems solutions across the mining and resources sector.

The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Electrical, Control Systems, or related field, and 5+ years' relevant experience in industrial projects. Strong PLC/SCADA background (Rockwell ControlLogix preferred, GE Proficy desirable) is required, along with exposure to electrical design across plant installations and expansions. Experience in mining, minerals processing, or bulk materials handling environments is essential. CPEng accreditation or working towards it is highly regarded.

Key responsibilities include delivering engineering design and commissioning across electrical and control systems, preparing specifications, test plans, technical documentation, and user manuals, and performing FAT, site commissioning, and providing ongoing technical support. You will also liaise with clients throughout the project lifecycle and support proposals/estimations, and supervise and mentor engineers while supporting project managers.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of electrical and control systems solutions, working on major mining and resources projects, and leading and mentoring others in a collaborative team environment.
