Job Title: Family Support Specialist

The role of Family Support Specialist is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children, young people and families.

This position involves providing high-quality support to families through various means including facilitating intake, screening and placement of children and young people with foster and kinship care families.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Care Planning: Developing and evaluating care plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring that the best possible outcomes are achieved for all parties involved.
  • P parenting Programs: Delivering evidence-based parenting programs designed to equip parents with the skills and knowledge necessary to provide optimal care and support for their children.
  • Foster Care Recruitment: Recruiting, assessing and supporting foster and kinship carers, including facilitating approval processes to ensure that only suitable candidates are approved.
  • Case Management: Leading case management planning and maintaining accurate client records, ensuring that all relevant information is readily available for reference purposes.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of child protection, out-of-home care and relevant legislation, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
