Poultry Technician Position

Global Skilled Employment Services is seeking a skilled Poultry Technician to join our team.

Job Description

The successful candidate will provide technical knowledge and advice for raising poultry to produce eggs and meat. This includes selecting and purchasing poultry stock, advising and administering feeds and waters supply, and managing the proper disinfection process for poultry houses, cages, and nests.

Key responsibilities include providing technical guidance on egg production, inspecting and disposing of or segregating infected poultry, collecting and packing eggs, and maintaining growth, feed, and production records.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and time management skills, be self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a production team.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Diploma in Agriculture or higher equivalent
  • At least 3 years recent relevant work experience

Applicants should possess good written and verbal communication skills, as well as advanced knowledge in animal husbandry, animal welfare and legislation, poultry production, and OH&S.

Benefits

This is a full-time position with comprehensive salary package available. The role may involve weekend work and some unplanned hours where necessary.

Preference will be given to applicants with a Bachelor degree and recent relevant work experience.
