Job Overview:

We are seeking an accomplished Electrical Designer to contribute to our organization's growth and success.

About the Position:

This role involves conducting design tasks of moderate complexity, utilizing sound electrical design principles and specialized software skills. You will be responsible for creating electrical design models for primary or secondary systems associated with electrical substation projects.

  • Ensure adherence to technical standards and client requirements.
  • Utilize specialized software skills for accurate electrical design models.
  • Prepare design and other documentation in accordance with specifications and standards.
  • Complete assigned design tasks within tight timeframes with high-quality standards.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders for quality, timeliness, and coordination of project deliverables.
  • Assist senior designers in analyzing information and producing designs.
  • Review colleagues' work against requirements and provide feedback.
  • Communicate openly and regularly with team members and stakeholders.
  • Share knowledge, provide technical support, and mentoring.
  • Contribute to project planning and propose improvements.
  • Liaise with project managers and stakeholders for necessary information.
  • Adhere to document management processes and ensure design accuracy.

Requirements:

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Tertiary qualification (Engineering) or relevant Diploma from a recognized institution.
  • Demonstrated 6-8 years of professional industry experience, especially in substation design for Electricity Utilities.
  • Proven ability to utilize mid-level design skills on small to medium projects.
  • Successful track record in undertaking, monitoring, and managing design tasks on multiple projects of varying sizes.
  • Proficient in managing client relationships and meeting their expectations.
  • Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards and specifications.
  • Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., MX, 12D, AutoCAD).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in a diverse environment.
  • Cooperative and flexible work style, quick adaptability to acquire new knowledge.
  • Proficient time management skills and computer literacy.
  • Awareness of relevant business systems, including project management, OHS, and CRM principles.
  • Strong desire to meet or exceed client expectations.
