Position Summary:

The Inclusion Educator serves as a knowledgeable resource, collaborating with educational leaders and teaching staff to enhance the learning experience for all students. This role involves working closely with the Diversity Leader to integrate diverse perspectives throughout the educational framework. Key responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating engaging and age-appropriate learning experiences for every student.
  • Supporting the Diversity Leader in identifying suitable specialized teaching strategies for students with unique needs.
  • Collaborating to design and execute educational programs that reflect a diversity-focused approach.
  • Assisting classroom teachers in recognizing and prioritizing students who may require additional support.
  • Co-developing individualized student profiles and tailored learning plans for those in need.
  • Monitoring and assessing the progress of students requiring extra assistance in partnership with classroom educators.
  • Demonstrating inclusive teaching methodologies to empower classroom teachers.
  • Working within the educational environment to enhance student participation and success in standard classroom activities.
  • Contributing to the professional development of staff in areas of expertise.
  • Carrying out specific duties as assigned by the principal or designated authority.

The Inclusion Educator is a vital asset to the entire school community. Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Qualifications in inclusive education or a related field.
  • Significant experience in classroom teaching.
  • Expertise in literacy and numeracy support programs.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to new methodologies.

As a K-12 institution, we welcome candidates with primary teaching experience who are interested in transitioning to work with secondary students.

Qualifications Required:

  • Compliance with Child Protection Legislation, including a Working with Children Check clearance.
  • Eligibility to teach in accordance with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).
  • A minimum of a 4-year tertiary qualification or 75% completion of such a degree.
  • A Statement of Service.
