Monash Health: A Leader in Child Mental Health
Monash Health is a renowned healthcare provider in Victoria, dedicated to delivering exceptional care to children and adolescents. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Clinician to join our Early in Life Mental Health Services (ELMHS) team, specifically the Intake, Assessment, Consultation and Brief Treatment Team (iACT).
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in assessing and treating complex mental health issues in children under 12 years old. They will be responsible for conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments, providing session-limited treatment, and coordinating care within a systemic framework.
As a member of the iACT multidisciplinary team, the Senior Clinician will work collaboratively to provide consultation and support to colleagues, stakeholders, and families. They will also contribute to the development of a model of care that aligns with the ELMHS developmental episodic model of care for children and adolescents.
Key responsibilities include:
- Complex and comprehensive psychiatric assessments of children aged under 12 years and their families
- Providing session-limited treatment to children aged under 12 years and their families, working within individual, parent, dyadic, and family contexts
- Care coordination of children aged under 12 years
- Working within a systemic framework to ensure all components of a child's social system are considered and included in their care
- Providing consultation within iACT, across ELMHS, and with key stakeholders outside of ELMHS for children under 12 years of age
- Collaborating as a member of the iACT multidisciplinary team and sharing team duties
- Capacity to hold a caseload that includes a number of complex cases
- Capacity to take a lead role in care coordination of complex cases involving multiple systems
- Capacity to support the senior clinician coordinator in the management of patient flow and the development of a model of care that aligns with the ELMHS developmental episodic model of care for children and adolescents
- High level of skill in collaborative practice with a range of community and statutory agencies
This is a part-time (0.8 FTE) temporary parental leave position, primarily based in Dandenong, with core business hours of 8:30am-5:00pm. The position is an Allied Health Grade 3, Psychologist Grade 3, RN Div 1 Grade 4.
