About the Role


This senior mental health clinician position is part of a focused government initiative to ensure equitable access to the public mental health system for children aged under 12 years.


The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team led by consultant psychiatrists, providing complex and comprehensive psychiatric assessments of children aged under 12 years and their families.


Key Responsibilities



  • Providing session-limited treatment to children aged under 12 years and their families, working within individual, parent, dyadic and family contexts.
  • Care coordination of children aged under 12 years.
  • Working within a systemic framework, ensuring that all components of a child social system are considered and included in their care.
  • Providing consultation within the iACT team, across ELMHS and with key stakeholders outside of ELMHS for children under 12 years of age.
  • Working collaboratively as a member of the iACT multidisciplinary team and sharing team duties.
  • Leading a case load that includes a number of complex cases.
  • Supporting the senior clinician co-ordinator in the management of patient flow and the development of a model of care that accords with the ELMHS developmental episodic model of care for children and adolescents.
  • Collaborating with community and statutory agencies.
