Elective Surgery Coordinator

The Elective Surgery Waiting List Officer is a key member of the Elective Surgery Management Team (ESMT) at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne. This role is responsible for the efficient management of patients on the elective surgery waiting list from a clerical perspective, ensuring compliance with the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Elective Surgery Access Policy (ESAP).
Key Responsibilities- Receive and process waiting list forms from specialist clinics, private rooms, and other areas of St Vincent's within stipulated time frames as per DHHS ESAP.
- Accurately create, record, and update the Waiting List Screen on the Patient Administration System (PAS) as required.
- Contact patients and schedule admission for procedures.
- Schedule appointments, including pre-admission clinics, anaesthetic clinics, perioperative medicine unit (PMU) clinics, and associated investigations as requested by the Surgical Liaison Nurses or unit.
- Relevant experience in administration in a healthcare role.
- Experience with patient administration systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, MS Teams, SharePoint, and Excel.
- Current National criminal history check, or willingness to obtain.
