Elective Surgery Coordinator

The Elective Surgery Management Team (ESMT) at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne is seeking a highly skilled and organized individual to fill the position of Waiting List Officer. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for the efficient management of patients on the elective surgery waiting list, ensuring seamless coordination of care and adherence to the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Elective Surgery Access Policy.
Key Responsibilities- Receive and process waiting list forms from specialist clinics, private rooms, and other areas of the hospital within stipulated time frames.
- Create, record, and update the Waiting List Screen on the Patient Administration System (PAS) accurately and efficiently.
- Establish effective communication with patients to schedule admissions for procedures and coordinate appointments, including pre-admission clinics, anaesthetic clinics, and perioperative medicine unit (PMU) clinics.
- Relevant experience in administration, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in patient administration systems and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, MS Teams, SharePoint, Word, and Excel.
- Current National criminal history check or willingness to obtain.
