Geelong, Victoria, Australia beBeeNetwork Full time $150,000 - $180,000

A comprehensive job posting is presented below.

Job Description

The role of a Senior Network Planning Engineer at our company involves planning and delivering economic and strategic solutions to maintain the network's position in a rapidly changing energy landscape.

This encompasses assessing network constraints, developing viable solutions and augmentation strategies, conducting economic assessments, and creating compelling business cases.

Effective communication plays a crucial part, as seen in initiatives such as Regulatory Investment Tests and Electricity Distribution Price Reset proposals.

Mastery of intricate calculations, including DLF and NGERs, is essential, as is the ability to synthesize complex data into coherent planning reports like DAPR and TCPR.

This role entails a hybrid split (Southbank/WFH) within the Distribution Network Strategy & Planning team.

The successful candidate will deliver real outcomes, including:

  • Comprehensive planning processes to assess network capabilities and limitations
  • Planning for augmentation of the network to maintain bushfire safety compliance with Rapid Earth Fault Current Limiter (REFCL) technology
  • Leading Distribution Loss Factors, fault level forecasts, and development plans for HV and LV networks, and contributing to demand and energy forecasts
  • Managing delivery of current and emerging non-network solutions required to reduce network demand and generation to avoid/defer network investment

The ideal candidate possesses relevant qualifications and experience in Engineering, contemporary electricity network planning, asset management practices, and overarching markets.

They should be proficient in using electricity network analysis tools or relevant software and have a sound knowledge of National Electricity Rules, the energy markets, and relevant laws, regulations, rules, licenses, and agreements.
