Business Intelligence Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Specialist to join our team and play a key role in modernizing our business intelligence environment. This role involves rebuilding legacy reports in Power BI, integrating with modern data platforms such as Databricks and Azure, and collaborating closely with business domain experts to deliver actionable insights.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional who can design scalable, high-quality BI solutions aligned with enterprise standards. As a Business Intelligence Specialist, you will work through a structured handover process from the existing team while recreating and modernizing existing legacy reports in Power BI, ensuring business continuity and accuracy.

You will also be responsible for designing and building interactive dashboards and data models integrated with Databricks and Azure-based sources, developing efficient and reusable DAX measures, Power Query (M) transformations, and semantic models. Additionally, you will collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and SMEs to validate requirements and align outputs with financial business logic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recreate and modernize existing legacy reports in Power BI, ensuring business continuity and accuracy.
  • Design and build interactive dashboards and data models integrated with Databricks and Azure-based sources.
  • Develop efficient and reusable DAX measures, Power Query (M) transformations, and semantic models.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and SMEs to validate requirements and align outputs with financial business logic.
  • Ensure all visuals adhere to best practices in data visualization, governance, and performance optimization.

Requirements and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will need 5+ years of hands-on experience delivering Power BI solutions in complex, enterprise environments. You should also have experience in financial services or regulated industries, deep expertise in DAX, Power Query (M), SQL and data modeling (star schema, snowflake, normalization), and experience integrating with Databricks and querying Delta Lake or Spark tables.

Familiarity with Azure data services, such as Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL, Synapse, and source control and CI/CD workflows, is also essential. Additionally, you should have strong knowledge of documentation and collaboration tools, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Miro, or Lucidchart.
